Happy Days Horse Retirement

Private 2-acre ranch has available room for several retirement (or lay-up/rehab) horses (joining my two geldings) in Bear Valley Springs Tehachapi, California - just 2 hours above L.A. where they’re going to receive the kind of daily love and care they have earned and deserve!
Ranch owner has over 50 years of horse experience, as a horse trainer, stable manager, 10 yrs Orange County MAU, and as a horse rescue person - and will be on site 24/7.
Your horse will enjoy a 20' x 70‘ stall with a 12’ x 12’ three-sided enclosure. Horses are turned out in our pastures daily either with other horses, or alone.
Spring time means fresh grass to eat, with attention to grazing time limits. Loving, scratches, and attention will be provided multiple times per day as your horse will be part of our family. Complete grooming and hoof cleaning are provided once a week and baths will be provided in the Spring and Summer.

Horses are fed twice daily in slow feed hay nets, over rubber mats that are swept prior to each feeding. We feed a superior grass hay with seven different kinds of grass, and we pre-wet the hay prior to feedings as we have found that our horses love it that way! We also alternate with a wonderful orchard/alfalfa grass and/or an alflafa/rye grass, when available, to provide a variety of hay choices throughout the year. Also available are soaked pellets of either Timothy or Alfalfa/Oat (or whatever your horse needs). Supplements, provided by the owner, are fed daily. Special diets can be accommodated upon request. Stalls are cleaned twice a day.
Fly masks are put on and off daily in the Summer and blankets are put on and off as needed in the Winter (these items are to be provided by the horse owner). There are minimal flies here, as we not only use fly predators, but we also have fans in the stalls to keep the flies out. Fly spray is applied daily if needed.

Our local farrier charges only $60 per trim, that plus any and all vet bills are to be covered by the owner - but horse handling for all such visits will be handled by us.
Bear Valley Springs is a quiet and safe equestrian community - a real-life paradise! The weather is moderate - where we enjoy all four seasons. Summer’s average is in the 80’s - only going into the 90s for a couple weeks out of the year. In Winter we get a handful of small snows. If blankets are provided by the owner they will be put on and off daily, as needed.
All of this for only $650 per month per horse!
